Masar Gardens announced - Makkah's latest development
Umm Al Quraa's new open-park development extends the Masar boulevard into a green urban oasis.
Published 3 June 2026
The developer behind the Masar project, Umm Al Quraa Development Company, has just announced a new development: "Masar Gardens".
This follows the Royal Commission for Makkah City awarding 6 new development sites across the city, two of which were handed to Masar (Hindawiyah West and Hindawiyah South).
The new Masar Gardens will sit directly south of the flagship King Abdullah Mosque, which anchors the centre of the 3.6 km Masar boulevard. In effect, it serves as an extension of the Masar development, expanding the area into a larger urban oasis within the city's core.
The standout feature is the open-park structure at the heart of this mixed-use development. It is designed to offer a green getaway for Makkah's visitors and residents alike. In a city growing as fast as Makkah, a deliberate effort to avoid the concrete-jungle trap will be a welcome relief.
Given that the project has only just been announced, we are expecting delivery to be some way off. With "Phase 1" of Masar still under construction through to 2029 for most of its sub-developers, Masar Gardens will likely only see the light of day a decade from now.
